Café CHIC

Welcome to Chicago! We are so excited to share our first city post with you guys! We had a very eventful summer day in the city and after having lunch close to where Mal works, we made our way to Toni Patisserie and Café for some dessert. We also spent part of the day exploring The Art Institute, which Mal will talk more about in her next post, so keep an eye out for it! The outfit I put together for this day is super casual and relaxed. I paired my favorite skinny jeans with a loose-fitting, black and white, striped top. My top was very appropriate for the European inspired café we visited. I swear, all I needed was a beret to fully get into character and put my almost five years of French to good use. *Sigh* an adventure for another day I suppose. On the bright side, I was feeling a little taller that day in my chunky-heeled sandals, which are the perfect color for summer (At 5’2″ a girl can use all the help she can get). As far as accessories go, I threw on some round earrings, in a very muted blue and complimented them with a bright lip. My sunglasses were both functional and fashionable, and accentuated the, mainly, monochrome and sleek aspect of this look. I added a small, purple cross-body bag and a couple gold rings and I was ready to take on the day. Who says you can’t take on summer in black and white? This look proves you can!
